Default Sand Lake Imaging -anyone use?

I understand that Sand Lake Imaging has the only 3 Tesla strength MRI within 40 miles of The Villages. These higher strength machines provide much improved images over the older 1.5 Tesla machines.

I would like to hear of anyone's experience who has gone there. Thanks

It is not just the strength of the machine that is important. The software can be even more important. So when you ask the magnetic strength be sure to ask about the software package and whether it is the most recent release by the manufacturer.

A new 1.5 tesla unit with current software can provide better results than a 3 tesla unit with 10 or even 5 year old software.

And then, let's not forget the radiologist who reads your scan. Is he or she a specialist in MRI imaging, did they take a specialty fellowship in the field, or are they a generalist radiologist?

Lot's more to research than Tesla strength.

I used them just a few months ago for a CT scan. The radiologists have excellent credentials and the staff were very professional and accomodating. Would definitely go there again. For what it's worth, three different doctors have recently commented to me that Sand Lake is their preference.

My Dr. highly recommended them also. I'm going in September
