Default The Beguiled - 2 1/2 Stars

I was really looking forward to seeing "The Beguiled." The trailer is better than the movie...not bad, but not great either. The movie is rather slow paced...I kept waiting for it to get going. The best performances in the movie are from the the two youngest actresses. I would give it 2 1/2 stars out of 4 stars.

According to IMDB.com, the exterior shots of the mansion were filmed at Madewood Plantation near Napoleonville, Louisiana (45 miles from Baton Rouge) which is now a bed and breakfast. This mansion was built in 1846 and was part of a sugar plantation. I would love to stay here for a vacation!

I so loved the version with Eastwood that I really couldn't imagine a remake would be all that good. It, too, was slow-paced but the acting made up for it.
