Psychiatry group tells members they can defy ‘Goldwater rule’ and comment on Trump’s mental health
Quote:
And yet all too many who think of themselves as at least semi-intelligent, continue to put their fingers in their ears...and refuse to believe facts about Chump's erratic and dangerous personality and behavior. ![]() As I've said many time previously, the crisis of this country is not Trump's doing, it lies at the feet of those who have thrown common sense and reason out of the window...in their cultism of blindly following/believing the biggest lying, bigoted, misogynistic, ego-maniacal and insecure scumbag POTUS in our nation's history. ![]() |

"An increasing number of psychologists and psychiatrists have denounced the restriction as a “gag rule” and flouted it, with some arguing they have a “duty to warn” the public about what they see as Trump’s narcissism, impulsivity, poor attention span, paranoia, and other traits that, they believe, impair his ability to lead." This will allow more freedom as spoken of in your link... "American Psychoanalytic Association to its 3,500 members, represents the first significant crack in the profession’s decades-old united front aimed at preventing experts from discussing the psychiatric aspects of politicians’ behavior. It will likely make many of its members feel more comfortable speaking openly about President Trump’s mental health." "In October, a book titled “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President” will be published. “When the book comes out, there will be renewed furor about the Goldwater rule, since it is precisely about what is wrong with him,” said psychiatrist Dr. Lance Dodes, a retired professor at Harvard Medical School who is now in private practice in Los Angeles." |

"Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) forgot to turn off her microphone after a Senate subcommittee hearing on Tuesday, and was accidentally recorded talking about President Donald Trump and the Texas Republican congressman Blake Farenthold.
At the start of the recording, Collins speaks to Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island, who is the ranking Democrat of the subcommittee. The two discussed Trump's federal budget, calling his administration's handling of the budget "irresponsible," according to the Washington Post. “I swear, [the Office of Management and Budget] just went through and whenever there was ‘grant,’ they just X it out,” Collins said, according to the Post. “With no measurement, no thinking about it, no metrics, no nothing. It’s just incredibly irresponsible.” “Yes,” Reed replied. “I think — I think he’s crazy,” he said, referring to the president, according the Post. “I mean, I don’t say that lightly and as a kind of a goofy guy.” “I’m worried,” Collins added. If any professionals saw his speech to the Boy Scout Jamboree last night where he prompted little boys to boo and cheer on command, they would worry.
"A barrage of political remarks by President Trump delivered Monday to the Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree in West Virginia has enraged many parents and former Scouts, thrusting the Scouts once again into the middle of the nation’s culture wars and providing yet another example of the unusual and polarizing nature of the Trump presidency."
