Default Spending October in the villages

My husband and I will be spending the month of October in the Villages. We have visited three times during the past three years for a week with friends. This time we will be visiting on our own with the thought of becoming future part-time villagers. We would appreciate any suggestions about how to best experience village life!! We are both very active and would like to participate in anything that is available (classes, pickle ball, golf, neighborhood gatherings, polo viewing, dances, etc.). Your guidance would be very helpful.

Make sure you get the Daily Sun newspaper. Most events are listed. Check out the Thursday Rec News in the Sun. It gives you the upcoming week sports activities and clubs meeting. Go to the town squares at night. Watch channel 2 if you have Comcast. Listen to the villages radio station. Look at the bulletin board at your villages mail station for neighborhood happenings.

Default Oct is great!

No not at all... We are PTimers and go down every October for 15 days with another couple who stay with us. October is the BEST time of year especially before Oct 15th..You still pay the very low summer rates for golf , love bugs are gone, not crowded yet and the courses are in great shape. It is becoming our favorite time of year to visit..The weather is the icing on the cake!

October is a great month to be here. The snowbirds have not yet arrived and the weather is perfect. Get a daily paper, it's got everything.

You guys are great. Can't wait to get back to my dream town! I am not packing yet, but am thinking about it. The weather in Raleigh is still in upper 80's with upper 60's at night. In October, we are packing up summer and bringing out the sweaters etc. What should I expect in the Villages -- still summer ??
