Default Opioid Emergency

I have to ask the question but think I already know the answer, why are all the states pleading for federal money to go after this epidemic. All 50 states equally have the problem so why do states not step up and tax their residents to pay for treatment or whatever. The reason is the same as FEMA paying to remove brush from Villages or rebuild homes over and over again destroyed by natural disaster, or guaranteeing private pension plans etc, etc. A big spending bill was passed today as a “down payment” for hurricane damage and of course no mention of how it was going to be paid for. How do you fight a very expensive war for 16 years on a credit card. Our “leaders” (I hate to use that work as the only way they can get people to follow them is raping our grandchildren to buy votes) have been successful in cultivating a complete disconnect between revenue and spending. If the tax cut gets approved I believe it will push those who do not pay federal income tax over the 50% bogie. Now how concerned are they with the deficiet when in the voting booth. Senators Nelson and Rubio have made very lucrative careers with this formula along with Senators from my old home state. Thank you for allowing my rant. Paper1

The money HAS to be spent...so they spend it...and borrow what they're short...about a $ trillion a year. Trump will eventually double that.

Thank you for civil reply. How does it end, why does market continue to go straight up knowing what the financials of this country are. Apparently there is no long term view like all promote. IMHO

The country crashes and burns within 30 years. Before the Hispanic majority. This country can't survive with 20% white people...NO country has prospered with 20% white people.

Look at the world standing lists...lots of white people...high ranking...few white people...low ranking.
