Thinking of switching to T Mobile, anyone know if service is good or bad in The Villages?

cant help you reference the villages. I'm interested in that myself. I recently switched to the over 55 plan - 60 bucks per months for 2 unlimited data lines. I switched from ATT and T Mobile is at least as good as ATT everyplace I've been so far.

TV is about 12 miles from north to south. What area are you mostly in?

Unless it has improved in the past two weeks T-Mobile coverage in the Colony area is nearly non-existent. I have been outside in the parking lot and not had a signal. I even restarted my phone thinking it was the problem with no improvement. Also seems to be weak or worse as I travel further South on Morse.

I have had T-Mobile for 9 years in The Villages. It is not the best but it works for me - I know where the dead zones are. There is a brand new T-Mobile store that just opened in the shopping center at Spanish Springs. I would think they wouldn't have opened a store if they didn't plan to improve towers here. It is by far the best service if you do international travel.

This is a great indication of their service.........."It depends on where you are at."

Verizon has the best coverage in TV, in the USA and around the world. IMO

It also depends on how old your phone is. TMO has introduced some new frequencies in recent years that improve LTE coverage significantly, but you have to have a phone that has a radio capable of using the newer frequencies. Specifically, you want to have the capability to use LTE band 12 (a 700MHz frequency). If you are an iPhone user, you need to have a 6S or newer.

Going forward, they are also working on rolling out support for band 71 (a 600 MHz frequency), but there are very few phones that can use it yet (I think only two so far).

We switched to T Mobile from AT&T when they wouldn't come close to matching T Mobile's senior plan. Their coverage is very similar to that of AT&T for a whole lot less with unlimited talk, text and data as well as Canada and Mexico without additional charges.

Exactly the same story here.

Have a "Pay-As-You-Go" T-Mobile flip phone. Can't get service anywhere around Colony.

I started a thread about problems with Verizon in the Spanish Springs area. I have confirmed this with some other users, and Verizon has listed this as a "variable coverage" area, and they acknowledged getting many complaints about cell service, dropped calls, etc., but have no current plans for an additional/new antenna. I have been asking other Verizon users to call (*611) about any problems, maybe Verizon will get the message.
OP, keep this in mind when selecting your new carrier, and check for your self.

My wife and I have had T-Mobile for about 5 years and have had no problems in the Village of Glenbrook.

I live in De La Vista service seems to be spotty at times, I have been with Tmobile for about 18 years and never had a complaint until hurricane Irma hit Florida. If service doesn’t improve soon I’ll be switching to a different provider.
