Default drenched in perfume

At this moment I am sitting outside at Sumter Depot awaiting Villages airport bus to meet my guest. I needed to move twice, outside mind you! to avoid the downwind of overpowering perfumed ladies presumably heading for a seat on an aircraft to assault the senses of others. What can they be thinking??? Grrrr

Maybe they didn’t realize they put too much perfume on.

From the internet:
<< With advancing age, the ability of humans to detect and discriminate odors declines. In light of the rapid progress in analyzing molecular and structural correlates of developing and adult olfactory systems, the paucity of information available on the aged olfactory system is startling.

The decline in the ability to detect and discriminate odors in aged humans leads to a decrease in the quality of life and diminished appetite with accompanying impacts on nutritional status. Decreased olfactory function with aging parallels generalized age-related deficits in sensory functions and cognition that occur in the absence of obvious disease states. >>

Shouldn't be a problem. OP isn't going anywhere.

It doesn't even need to be smoke. Smokers stink even when not smoking.

I did not read it as carefully as you.

I check out books every once in a while that you just know a smoker just had. I have to air them out for a while before I can read them by using a plastic bag and some clothes dryer fresh scent sheets.

One of my favorite people here in the Villages smokes. At least the last time I met her. I must really like her to put up with the smoke smell.

I have the same problem with library books from time to time.

Also about once a week I receive a priority mail package full of forwarded mail and bills from a couple who smoke heavily. I do not take it in the house immediately but open it up outside and fan the paper for a while. Even after all that after several days if I get my nose too close to any of it the paper still reeks.

In medieval Europe bathing was frowned upon, because of the lack of central heating--lets face it we stink if we don't bath-thus the need for perfume -its a mask for human body odor--nothing aphrodisiac about it

I do too! Don't ask me why, because I hate cigarette smoke. And I would not want the cigar smoke to be in the house, even though I like the aroma.
