Personally, I loved to stand with my back to the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) and fell the vibration through my body during a Shuttle Launch. Even in the parking lot at my office a few miles from the pad, or from my backyard pool area on the lake behind my house on Merritt Island it was exciting. It’s hard to be so far far away from the launch pads during major launches. All I see are the contrails. Makes me long for the Shuttle launch days, except trying to get into work with all the tourist traffic. I’m glad to see space travel coming back. I retired from Space Shuttle management 10 years ago.God speed.
