Post Garage Remote Mix-Up.

https://www.linearproaccess.com/wp-c...-QC_230915.pdf

My frantic neighbor came over after I got back from the Mail Center telling me that I was the culprit who had been opening her garage door whenever I opened mine. And shut hers as well.

She told me this had been going on since Friday or Saturday.

Never noticed it until I checked what she said and my MVP garage opener worked both our and her garage doors.

She collects wooden paddles so I decided I better keep on her good side. A retired school administrator. A woman with a lot of paddles should be feared IMHO.

Anyway I brainstormed with my parents and went over to the other neighbor who knows how to correct these messed up garage remotes as this happens frequently in the neighborhood.

I watched him re-program the remote and he got the whole problem solved.

Still cannot understand why this happened. Neither of us two neighbors had had any work done on the garage doors recently.

It sounds like a common problem in the Villages.

Maybe there is some creative MVP employee out there drumming up new business for reprogramming. Just a joke.

I try to find some reasonable explanation why this happens but cannot come up with anything.

I might be able to do this after watching my neighbor fix ours but hope this does not happen again.

Ours was doing that randomly, middle of the night, during the day, while we were gone etc. RoMac said it was the mother board on the remote or garage door opener (can't remember which they said). Anyway, they replaced it and it worked perfectly afterwards.

That happened to us a while back. We just had to call RoMac and get them to change the code.

There was also some kind of electrical problem that affected garage doors opening in our neighborhood. They had to call an electrician to fix that.
