His father was a golf club grounds keeper and taught Ted how to play using the father's left handed clubs - Ted is right handed but plays golf lefty.

Ted worked in the golf cart shack at Lake Diamond Golf Club in Silver Springs when he was younger. Ted still lives in Silver Springs.
