Default Buena Vista Blvd to SR 44 Construction Update

I took a ride down by where Buena Vista Blvd meets SR 44. The asphault is now complete and ties into SR 44 they are installing traffic lights and the turn lanes are complete. Recreation trails are also done to CR 44A.

I don't know when it will be open but it looks like they could open this shortly. Anyone know of any scheduled opening?

There is also construction of a 4 lane road East of the intersection of 44A and CR 139

Also they are still moving dirt at the Brownwood site. Many pieces of large equipment in use.

Hi Indy-Guy,

Where is Brownwood going to be? How do we get there?

Today we rode our bike all the way to Hwy 44 on the closed section of Buena Vista. The Brownwood site is between 44A and 44; looks like it will be a major regional shopping center with frontage on the highway, as well as the new Town Square. There is a huge amount of large construction equipment there already working on the site.

The golf cart road and tunnels paralleling the entire length of Buena Vista are complete, already connecting to the trail along 466A which connects to both Buena Vista and Morse Blvd cart trails north of 466A. So access to the new Town Square will be easy and beautiful.

Circles, medians and ROWs along the sides have not been landscaped yet, but everything else appears to be done. The road and golf cart paths are still officially closed; however, we were not the only "recreational" users there this weekend (joggers, cyclists . . .). Be warned -- we heard rumors that $140 tickets were given out to some cyclists who used the road a few months ago.

If you are driving via automobile go South on Buena Vista to 466A turn right (West) on 466A toward Wildwood and proceed to the first crossroad and trun left (South) and take it till it stops if you go Left to the roundabout that is Buena Vista. If you go to the West from the T at 44A you will see more construction of Brownwood. Brownwood construction runs all along 44A on the South side of 44A.

If you continue East on SR 44 it will go to SR44 then turn right (West and it will take you past the South side of where the construction of Brownwood is and you will see the intersection of Buena Vista and SR 44. Continue on SR 44 and you will see more Brownwood Contruction.

If you go to the sales center and ask for the free General Area Map it will show you where Brownwood will be and where the streets that I mentioned are located.

Its caused by The Villages information technology department playing silly games with the linking.

Cut the line with the link and paste it into your browser address line.
