Default Looking to adopt a dog.

We are looking to adopt a small dog. If you are in a position where you can no longer take care of your pet, and would be willing to let us take over, please contact us.

Our "perfect" dog would be one to be groomed (doesn't shed), well trained and good personality without any special needs.

Call: 352 322-6240.

We have found a rescue Shih Tzu to adopt from Max's Pet Connection. Tooo cute!

Contact Susan G on this forum. She volunteers for Poodles&Pooches, which specializes in small dogs to be adopted.

I know most don't want to here this but you never know once the pet leaves you're life? I hope there are some verification?

In some states they take you're pet sell it medical facilities for drug testing. When we adopted dog from col. Potters rescue for carin terriers there was interview, home and yard inspection, signed document on what was expected, and approval to ensure we were worthy to adopt pet.

There would be all verification asked for. We live in Villages. Visits would be encouraged. Home inspection would be offered; meet and greet, previous vet recommendation, etc.

I have two TOTV'S dog advisors. Both wonderful women. They are both funny but this dog business is serious. I have been planting the information seeds they have given me to sway my wife towards another pup. It seems to be working. Today was the second day in a row that the doggie subject has come up. It's a big decision so I don't want any buyers remorse on our side or mess up a dog who could use our help. The Foster Dog Idea Worked Like A Charm. Good Job!

To the OP I will keep my ear to the ground and let you know if I hear of any prospects. Good Luck! Woof.

There are many adoptable dogs available at HSSPCA.org that need homes and there are small dogs there as well.

Max's Pet Connection has dogs available every Saturday morning on the sidewalk outside of Petsmart.
Maxine doesn't have a shelter; all dogs are fostered by wonderful people.
We adopted a nine-pound Yorkie/Cairn terrier at Max's Pet Connection. He doesn't shed.

Our Bennie came from the wonderful place listed in this link. They could not have been nicer or more organized, number one concern making sure "their" animals (a dog in our case) go to good homes. Since October they have followed up with us to ensure Bennie is safe and taken care of. I totally respect that. Good luck with your search, a pup is waiting for you.
