Thumbs down What is wrong with the corn in the 2018 movie Samson?

The movie is good in a few parts but sure takes liberties with even the Biblical story of Samson.

And corn on the cob shows up which probably did not end up in that part of the world until the 1500s.

History of maize

Does the Bible have errors, since it says that corn existed in the Middle East over 2,000 years ago?

I don't rely on anything shown in movies as being based on historical actuality. Presentation is everything, getting and retaining viewer attention, using tactics appealing to emotional responses are objectives, not accurate presentation of factual accounts. Films provide entertainment; that is all.

They can be so much more though. The Ox-Bow Incident for instance , and many other great movies, have had quite a lot of an impact. Twelve Angry Men too. To Kill a Mockingbird is another one.

These are used in schools to teach.

Of course a few, such as the ones you mentioned, are wonderfully done, insightful and cause viewers to think and consider many things. However, most movies are made to generate the most sales and are primarily just for the enjoyment of the audience and only of entertainment value. Sex and violence sell as well as car chases, plane crashes and other sensationalistic scenes.

True. But they are also a canvas that can be written on if you have the balls and connections to try to get Hollywood involved in something bigger than these stories.

Still not sure what happened to Delilah in this movie. The actress who played her does have really beautiful eyes.

SAMSON Official Trailer (2018) Rutger Hauer, Billy Zane Action Movie HD - YouTube

My late younger brother had met Rutger Hauer and said he is a very nice man. He plays Samson's father in this movie.

Mr. Hauer was making Blind Fury when my younger brother met him. This probably happened in a department store in Reno, Nevada or in some casino there. Or renting a car.
