Didn't know they had a new Ivy House Restaurant. The one on Rt 40 is great. My wife went with a couple of friends for lunch several times and loved it. Cute gift shop upstairs. We have been there for dinner several times and liked it each time.

I hadn't heard about it. Why don't you check it out and let us know?

Have been there many times for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It has been the for many years so I don't know if it is the "new" one or not.

I think I know why the OP is asking, because I was wondering myself when I saw the ad. In today's Sun Dining Guide section of Lifestyle, right in the middle is an ad for The Ivy House in Ocala and centered in big letters are 'Now Open', but doesn't explain what went on. It could give the impression that it's new or refurbished or something else.

From The Villages Gourmet Club web site...
"Ivy House Restaurant (Ocala), 917 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL. Closed on December 24, 2017 after 5 years in business here and gaining a 13 Star rating from members. They plan to reopen at 53 S. Magnolia St. in downtown Ocala in January, 2018 (see that listing)." It doesn't rate 13 stars anymore. |

Their new location is right off the main square in downtown Ocala. They opened in this location around the first of the year. The new facility is fabulous - you will not be disappointed. The old location had lots of ambiance but the new location doesn't disappoint. The food is as good as ever. We dine out a lot and I would say this is our favorite spot. Great menu. Great dessert offerings. Enjoy! I don't know what restaurant Jeff thinks is better than the Ivy House. Not sure what the 13 stars indicates but I'm always up for better restaurants. Difficult to top Ivy House. We are not in the Northeast. The word "Gourmet" doesn't mean a lot around here.

Never been there. Can't opine. Just reporting what I found on the interweb.

Not to doubt your friends. But give it a try for yourself. You may not think it's great but I'm sure you will find it well above average. I would ask everyone reading this thread to submit restaurants that they would rank above the Ivy House. If you haven't been there, of course, don't respond.
