Yesterday I participated in the Disney volunteer program called "Give a Day Get a Disney Day," and I thought maybe some of you may be interested in participating too.

The way it works is that you volunteer to work in your community (they give you choices) and for doing so you get a one day, one theme park ticket to Disney that you can use yourself, or you can donate it to one of the organizations designated by Disney.

I have heard of the program and plan to participate...would be nice to do when I get to TV rather than wait until we return home...what project did you find in/near TV where you were able to help? Was it easy for you to make the connection to volunteer?

We both volunteered at different places in Leesburg that we found on the website. I did clerical work and hubby did outside work.

You ask if it was easy to make the connection to volunteer. I'm not sure about all of the volunteer opportunities, but for both of ours it was very easy. After signing up and choosing a placement everything was handled through email.
