Had this done last year at Advanced Urology. The procedure was done at Munroe in Ocala. Other than the catheter for a few days afterwards there was no pain and the results were excellent. I had been on two medications prior to that, now on none. If I had not asked the doc about it, I would not have been offered the surgery at 64.

What is the TUMT procedure? I had the green lite laser done by Dr. Taub in 2010. Is the TUMT the same or is this a newer procedure? Thank you.

Default Rezum Therapy for BPH

Has anyone heard of Rezum Therapy? Much less invasive than TUMT and lower risk of sexual side effects. Dr. Roach (Advanced Urology Associates) and Dr. Young (Prostate Eval Center) right here in The Villages are both trained and offering Rezum Therapy to their patients. The procedure is done in the office and only local anesthesia is needed. Down time is minimal and the outcomes just as good as those related to the more invasive procedures like TUMT. Great option for all living with the symptoms of BPH but especially for those with medical conditions for which general anesthesia is contraindicated. Link to the Rezum website below. NXThera was the name of the start-up who brought this technology to market. They were recently purchased by Boston Scientific if that gives you an indication of the value this new therapy brings to the table. Check out the Rezum website for more info.
