Seeking Info on United Health Care Medigap insurance. Anyone out there have it? Any problems? Do they pay on time, etc. Any insight will be appreciated. Been with Blue Cross but getting too expensive.

No problems whatsoever with AARP (United). We have Plan C. For 2 of us we pay $311/month. Surgeries, doctor bills and testing. No money paid out. As far as I know bills paid on time. Never a complaint.

Just another perspective on United HealthCare. I had them for a year from my ex-employer and United was horrible. I had cancer and my claims got totally screwed up by United. They finally got straightened out, but only after tons of phone calls and letters and time.
I currently have CIGNA, and they've been superb, as has Blue Cross in the past. |

The reason people don't have trouble with United Healhcare's Medigap insurance (thru AARP) is that the gov't dictates what will be paid according to the plan you select: Plan A, Plan C, Plan F, etc. United is just one company that sells Medigap but they all must follow the same rules. John N, perhaps the United Healthcare policy you had was through your employer? In that case, the contract was between your employer and United. That is the way our secondary to Medicare is (Aetna). If they can find any loophole to not pay, that's what they'll do. It's always a surprise to read their "explanation of benefits."
