Not always. The furniture in some of the resale shops comes from houses where the furniture was used for staging prior to a home sale.

I have found that Almost Perfect is way more expensive than Bargains and Treasures. If you shop regularly at Bargains and Treasures, you can definitely find some really good furniture buys.

I've often wondered that too, as what is considered a reasonable price to pay by one person might be way too much for someone else's bank account. Why not just say something like "I'm looking for a sofa and chair, a coffee table and end table and don't want to spend more than $xxxx". I believe you'd stand a much better chance of getting good recommendations of the right stores to shop.

Try the Thrift Store next to Wildwood Tire in Wildwood. We recently gave them some furniture, including two nice Ethan Allen tables. According to a friend who works there, almost all of their proceeds are used to benefit military families.
