Default Have a closing date, want a building schedule

We are soon to be residents of TV and can hardly wait!! We have a closing date but are trying to get a construction schedule for the building process. Are these available and how can one be obtained? Just want to be able to see a few things as they are being done and must schedule flights to get in to check out. Overall the construction looks to be on the better side.

Also wanted to know what the max speed is on the golf cart paths?

She has another question, has anyone used the relocation services? What have been the experiences?

We are building in the Altamonte neighbor hood in St Charles.

Although I have not built, I have heard that the closing date is absolutely dependable. EVERYTHING here runs like clockwork. I know you will be pleased.

Welcome to you and your wife. You have made the right decision.

I'm sure you could get a building schedule but all dates would be tentative -- something scheduled for the 21st might not happen until the 23rd because of rain and high winds. They really do get it done in 30 days, but can't always promise to do something on the day scheduled even though they try.

Technically, the maximum speed on golf cart paths (or anywhere else unless you have a street legal cart and are on the street) is 19.9 mph. Sadly, most carts exceed this speed everywhere.

I know of one couple of that was very happy with the relocation service; another that was extremely unhappy.

You're moving into a lovely neighborhood. Good luck and welcome!

We had a home go up next door and it was fast. It was a frame home. The slab prep. took a day, then a day of nothing. Next day the slab was poured and finished, then another day of nothing. Then the framers showed up at 6 am and at about 4 the entire house was up with plywood on the roof. Shingles the next day and within 2 weeks the major work was done.

There was another home down the street that a week was spent on the framing that the next door did in a day. I think any schedule would be one with deadlines. In other words we will have this phase done in 2 weeks, we will have this done in 3 weeks. Also much of the work is subed out. So the subs may work on weekends or into the evening. I saw workers putting cabinets in at 10 in the evening.

TV uses 4 or 5 different builders each works at a different pace. The best thing for you to do is find out which builder is working on your house. and contact them directly. Ask your agent to get this info. or if you come down after your home starts go to the site and talk to the workers. Everything happens fast.

Default Updates

When ours was being built the salesperson sent us weekly picture updates of the house. we kep't them for an album. I took pictures for someone moving in down the street from us. You can probably get one of your neighbors to do the same. Our building started within a week of signing the papers and was done at leat 1 1/2 weeks before closing.

Skip0358's schedule sounds about like ours. We close on the 22nd and Mary Edwards confirmed yesterday afternoon that our grass was being put down. They started a few days after purchase agreement was finalized. Her very frequent photo coverage since they started has been absolutely great. Here's a shout out to Ed and Mary Edwards and we plan to use their home watch service for a few months as well. She has gone over and above anything you could imagine and you'll see Mary around TOTV for sure. Ray and Barbara..
