It depends on the area in the Villages. The different internet services do - and don't - service different parts. You could plug in an address on each one's website to find out for sure if there's a village of particular interest to you.

I've had CL Fiber Optic since July 2011 when my home was new and have only had one outage. That was a lightning strike that knocked out the backup battery in the garage, which knocked the whole system. They have since removed the backup batteries, they were to be a stop gap in case of a power failure like during a hurricane, but they said they were more trouble than they were worth.

That's another thing, I've had maybe one power failure with SECO in 8 years and it wasn't during Hurricane Irma. The only thing bad with CL is they no longer have a TV option, they use to have PRISM TV, which was like Verizon Fios, but they had a lot of problems and discontinued it last year. They offer Directv, which I've already had since 2008.

Century Link. Never had a problem. Had them for 10+ years.
