Default Independent flooring installers.

Looking for installers that are not affiliated with a flooring company. I know some stores have their own installers and others contract out their work. I would supply the materials for the job. Thanks.

To both of you, you may want to include some details, type of flooring (tile, floating floor, carpet, etc.), additional info on work to be done, (remove existing flooring (type?), install over laminate, other. My point someone good at installing carpet may have no idea how to do laminate flooring, and tile is a whole different skill set.

I have used Keith Stall 352-460-2683 for various jobs in which I provided the material. He has installed laminate planks, vinyl planks and tile. Excellent job! Hard worker and reasonable price.

Actually, you are better off using somebody from the store where you bought the flooring. Or, at least somebody that is affiliated with the brand's local distributor. Otherwise, in case of a warranty issue, the manufacturer can point at the installer and say he's not qualified, you lose.

That is exactly right. And in the event a repair or replacement is needed, you’ll be stuck with the tab.

I agree, but I would be less concerned about the warranty and more concerned about the quality of the work. If your goal is to save money, I think that, by shopping around, you can probably get the floor done for the same price by hiring a flooring company.

Having had three pieces of defective laminate replaced recently, I can personally attest to the ease of having it replaced, since I used Roberto’s. I can imagine the fingerpointing which might have taken place if I used an independent installer, and purchased the material elsewhere.

I bought flooring and installation from Stick and Stone. I was going to go with Robertos, but glad I went with these guys. Had a slight issue with one box of the luxury laminate - they caught it right away and procured more product without any hassle. Also, Robertos was going to floor over my existing laminate - Stick and Stone said no way, and pulled it all up - a painstaking task, bit no extra charges.

We just moved here and had flooring installed with a subcontractor from Home Depot - HOWEVER - has his own business and he did an extremely meticulous job with our plank flooring and I would recommend him very highly. Walt Morrell Flooring, Inc. 352-669-7506 or 352-434-2347

after going to Lowes to purchase flooring and using their subcontractor to install it we'd never do that again. The subcontractor had way too many jobs going on at the same time, and was constantly in his truck on the phone or not on site...the folks he left at our home didn't speak any English and we had questions that we wanted to resolve...frustrating

we've been very pleased going to small flooring businesses ever since...they care, they stand behind the work if there are any issues, they're insured and in the end the price isn't really much different

the guy next door to us here in TV seems to always go the cheapest way possible on everything he has done...and a year or two later he's paying all over again to have someone else redo the whole job

Royal Palm Flooring in Summerfield will get you whatever you want that you may see somewhere else and he'll install it.

Thanks for the replies. I’m not looking to save money, only a high quality installation where baseboards are removed and placed back neatly. That is the main issue. We would be removing laminate and replacing it with LVT.
