I want to have someone put a light in the yard, shining up on the flag. I want it done right this time. No more lights on lamp pole or solar.
Any suggestions who to hire or suggestions on lighting will be appreciated. Thank you.

If you have a plug on yout lamp post, then you can use landscape lighting (dusk to dawn setting). You will need the power supply, some landscape wire and a SPOT light (LED type). I have one for our flag when I put it out. Cost will be about $100 for material. Mine has been operation for around 5 years. The power supply plugs in and all the other wiring is low voltage 12 volts AC, you can easily do this yourself. Send me a private message if you would like to discuss further.

I would get ARC approval before spending money on a flagpole light. A neighbor of mine installed one, and he had to remove it. I don't know if it was technically a violation, but several neighbors complained. His was mounted on top of the flagpole.

The solar LED lights designed for the top of a Flag pole are inexpensive and last for many years.
Sold many places, you can buy on Amazon for under $50. NO wiring. |

I don't have a flagpole, my flag flies right alongside the front door. A light is plugged into a sensor and the flag is lit whenever it gets dark. I use an indoor/outdoor spot light.

Why not save the electricity and be able to admire the stars at night?

Of course, hardly anyone ever follows flag laws because they're unenforceable. But if you actually RESPECT what that flag symbolizes, you would obey the laws anyway. Otherwise, you're just displaying false patriotism. |
