I used search engine, and some posts are too old. We are in need of a reliable home watch. Insured, bonded. Our home watch is leaving TV, and it will be hard to replace. Always checked weekly, the usual, windows, toilets, fridge, the lanai, then once a month checked irrigation, poured vinegar down the pvc drain pipe, ran golf cart. Make sure the HVAC is running, and humidity is in check. Most importantly they show up weekly, and make sure no harm has come to your home.
Would like recommendations from personal experience, rather than just a name someone used.

I currently have had a Home Watch service for 9 years that I'm extremely happy with, and I sent him an email with a link to this thread asking if he is interested in getting more customers. Just out of curiosity, what village are you in? Now that The Villages is so big, that may be a factor on an individual or company offering their Home Watch service.

Every time someone sends me a PM my account get shut down. Take about 10 days to get back into system. Admin could not fix problems, so had to remove PM ability.

This is something to keep in mind.

I used one of the recommended by many home watch people for four years. They are a sponsor here and generally well thought of. They have not been mentioned yet. I won't get into bashing them by name.

I was promised weekly checks. When I added smart home technology I could see I was getting checks once a month. Over one three month period in 2019 they never entered the home. On the third month they sent exterior pictures of the home but never entered it, if the pictures were even recent.

Lesson learned, trust but verify. I would get some basic home monitoring in the home. If you see deception move on.

Why did I keep them at all you ask? Because they dealt with renters effectively.

Except for this past summer I’ve been going home for about 3 or 4 months in summer for 20 , I don’t do anything before I go but turn the AC to 80 , I have a friend look in every 2 weeks that’s about all the home watch I’ll ever want
