Default Peregrine Falcon

Peregrine Falcon. Peregrine falcon, the most widely distributed species of bird of prey, with breeding populations on every continent except Antarctica and many oceanic islands. Its diving speed during flight is more than 300 km (186 miles) per hour, making it not only the world’s fastest bird but also the world’s fastest animal.

The Peregrine falcon is the official city bird of Chicago. High rise buildings and pigeons, who could ask for more?

Wow, thanks for the great picture. Peregrine Falcon's are without a doubt one of the coolest creatures on the planet. Their speed and hunting ability is unparalleled.

here's a lesson. A carrier pigeon named g.i.joe flew wounded during a battle and saved over one thousand british soldiers lives in one battle. Over 40 received military decorations for valor amongst the various battle fronts
yet, they are not beautiful, nor graceful but performed acts of valor for humanity and our freedom.
Just like the g.i's they served and died with for the allied nations in world war 2
they did similar feats in ww1.

There is no excuse for rudeness. There are some who enjoy this type of information, myself among others, I'm sure.

It is a Juvenile 1st year Peregrine Falcon, it will get its adult feathers eventually. These will be more grey and white than now. Was this taken in the Villages. I hope so, as the bird population has diminished by 50% or more in the last 10 years. Too much building.
