Two shows daily at the Savannah Center through December 15. An absolute fun time and four top notch entertainers. The seating allows for ample social distancing. It's a great way to get into the Holiday season.

Helloooo, Chi-Town,

I have seen “Plaid Tidings” a couple of times, in years past, in my Cincinnati theater life. The show is a lot of fun.

I am back home for now and really missing theater. In normal times, theater is like a sport for nerdy me, everything from community theater to the Broadway Series. It’s going to be a looooooong winter though as things are here now.

(I have not posted on TOTV for a whole week — or more — but decided to stop by this morning — only to find myself suddenly posting about book reviews and cookbooks and farts — all in the same post.)

You are Chi-Town. I am beginning to think of myself as Crazy-Town. . . Not really. We are doing fine here, taking sensible precautions. But, damn, going to plays is one of the things I miss most.)

And, now, in case you do not know — Frank is back! The final season of “Shameless” has started. They set us up on Netflix with the first episode but now we have to buy in to Showtime.

When I see your name pop up on TOTV, I am reminded that it is your fault that I watch that raunchy, fascinating bunch of Gallaghers. The kids are survivors, in their own ways and in spite of their upbringing. I root for them to succeed, although their methods are often interestingly questionable.

William Macy is a genius actor and he plays an unforgettable character. There is nothing admirable about Frank and you can almost smell him through the screen, reeking of booze and needing a good personal hygiene session.

“Shameless” is my little shameless secret. (I think that phrase might be an oxymoron.)

Anyway, Chi-Town, I am 99 and 44/100 % sure that I have you to blame for getting me started watching “Shameless” when you posted about it years ago.

we saw the show on Wednesday, mainly because we were familiar with "Forever Plaid" and anxious to get out and see some live entertainment at the Savannah Center

there were 35 of us in the audience (plus ushers) in a venue that holds 1025...social distancing wasn't a problem, they even had a sanitation station if you needed a mask, etc.

the performance was enjoyable, but it would be really quite a stretch to call it top notch

Chi-Town, thank you. That is perfect Gallagher. I will be passing it along to my niece who shares my shameless secret.

Last night, I rewatched the episode where the Gallaghers threw together the wedding, after Mickey’s father burned down the venue where they were going to have it — after Daddy Dearest could not manage to murder Mickey to keep him from getting married. The Gallagher kids sure can get things done in their own way.

I must confess that when I watched the very first couple of episodes, I kept looking at that house of theirs and thinking about all the ways in which it could be restored. And then, sure enough, episodes later — along came gentrification of their neighborhood. I am loving Kevin’s “gym” where he is making good money from his new neighbors. Kev might not seem like the smartest guy but he sure is resourceful.

Now that I have hijacked your thread from theater to “Shameless” I guess I’d better stop breaking rules and let things get back on track. But, in my defense, I do not see this as hijacking. I see this as conversation. Besides that, my Bad Angel is here today and she loves “Shameless.”

I agree a friend and I went to see Plaid Tidings the other day at Savannah. There were just a few people there. It was practically empty. As far as the performance it was mediocre at best. The best part was the Ed Sullivan Show. That was funny. Most of the play was not good and even tho the singers had wonderful voices it would have been nice to hear the songs sung as written. It was disappointing because when I saw the old version of Forever Plaid at Terra Del Sol it was just hilarious!! I was looking forward to seeing something like it but alas, that did not happen. If they bring back the Forever Plaid play I would go again.

We saw it and the entertainers were wearing face shields so their voices were muffled. Very disappointing. We left at the intermission

Interesting. Their mikes were in front of the custom shields and noticed no muffling at all. Actually was quite surprised. BTW, the second half was the Christmas show.
