Dear fellow villagers, we just moved to The villages from Portland Oregon and would like to know what the best internet provider would be? We used Comcast in Portland. We live in Summer Chase area on Privada road.

Privada Drive is in the village of Alhambra. It is close to (next to) Summerchase. We live in Santiago (across the street) and have CenturyLink for internet and are happy with it. I don't know if they have fiber optic internet in your area.

I live in the area between 466 and 466A near Seabreeze Rec Center. I've had Century Link Fiber Optic since July 2011 and only had one outage in almost ten years. It's suppose to be 100 mbps, but it normally tests at 80 to 90, which is plenty fast for us. We pay $49 a month for life guaranteed and we pay the bill ourselves online, some get it a little cheaper if you give them your credit card or bank account and they charge automatically. I rather not do that.

The only other choice you really have is Comcast, which uses the name Xfinity because they were rated worse customer service in America a few years ago, out of sight out of mind. I heard it hasn't changed much. They are suppose to have great package bundling prices in the beginning, but after 12 or 24 months the prices jump a lot.

Use the button at the top of the page and make search, it a great for finding all kinds of information quickly. There's not a question that hasn't been asked already. Here, I did a search for you.

Xfinity can be a pain to deal with but once installed it works great.
