Two simple but diverse questions:
COVID - In Sumter County, to get the COVID vaccination, must you be a fulltime Sumter County resident? Can a snowbird from another state receive the vaccine while renting in Sumter County as a temporary resident? Beer - Do any bar/restaurants fill growlers? I have a 32 oz. growler and would like to get it filled in TV, Lady Lake, Leesburg....not too far away. Anybody know anything about growler fills? Thanks for responses to these two very different questions. |

A growler is a container for draft beer or an angry dog.
It would be difficult to put beer into either one at home. |

Here in the Northeast, you take your growler to a bar or restaurant or craft brewery. They fill your growler, you take it home and drink it. Because of the carbonation, you should drink it within 24 hours. Growlers are 16, 32 or 64 oz. I prefer 32, gives me 3 or 4 glasses of draft beer at home. Will call ABC in Tradewinds and see what they have on draft. Thought maybe WOB or Miller's would fill growlers.

You're right, ABC at Trailwinds has a website with all the info, that location is listed as Wildwood. I'll have to check that out, I asked them a few months ago about any small kegs and all they had was the Heineken mini keg, they didn't mention the growler. I tried the Heineken mini it's too heavy for me, I like a light beer. Here's the link to their growler info.
https://www.abcfws.com/brewstop The 32 ox plain bottle is only $3.99. ![]() If you fill up between 4pm to 7pm you get a $1 with this coupon, it's on the link I provided. ![]() |

To answer the IMPORTANT part of your question:
Florida Goverantor Ronny D explained Monday that with so many, including snow birds, spending months in Florida, residency can't be a disqualifier, but he said the state is discouraging people from traveling to the state just to get a vaccine. Currently, Florida is giving vaccines to healthcare workers, long-term care facility residents and staff, and people 65 and older, including snowbirds. Florida does not plan to require teachers and students to get the vaccine, even if one meant for children becomes available by next school year. Miami Hereald Link |

As for the vaccine question, the vaccine has very limited availability in Sumter county, as in less than 1000 people have been vaccinated. Today the call in for 300 vaccines was filled immediately. The vaccines for Villages Health were rerouted to University of Florida Health for medical personnel. You might have better luck getting it at home.
