Default Free Parrot Seed

I bought a bag of Vita Prima Parrot Formula seed and a seed treat stick to donate to a sanctuary and now I don't think I will be going up that way. Does anyone own a parrot and would like this food? I will gladly give it to you. Email me at
mfp509@embarqmail.com or PM me.

If you drop the feed off at the Mulberry Vet Clinic on Rt 42, they will get it to the sanctuary. I drop dog and cat food off there monthly and it goes to the sanctuary.

Excuse my comment if I have assumed wrong. However, I must say that if you are giving seed to domestic birds (i.e. macaws, african greys, any parrot), seed will greatly shorten their lives.

The seed I have is specifically for parrots. The sanctuary I was giving it to is in Ocala and it was for their parrots.

Taller Trees,

I understand your comment. It is much healthier for domestic parrots to have the properly enriched pellets rather then seed. But I suppose if it is a sanctuary they will be grateful to get any type of Parrot feed available to them. Working at Dog shelters for many years myself, They usually adopt the attitude that "beggars cant be choosers". Ideally they would be giving vitamin enriched pellets to their parrots . I think it is very kind of her to want to donate to the sanctuary.

The "food" I have for the parrots is a mixture of dried fruits, pellets, and various seeds and grains. It is calcium fortified, vitamin and mineral enriched, vitamin A fortified, with no artificial ingredients or preservatives. It was rather expensive - not run of the mill bird seed. Maybe I shouldn't have described it as "seed" - it is much more than that.

mfp509,

Good job!! Sounds like good stuff, so kind of you to buy expensive feed for the birds. I hope you find someone going that way so they can deliver it. I would be happy to but Im still North!
