Default The Villages Construction Update 1-25-21

Here’s the latest construction update for The Villages area. I spend a substantial portion looking at the areas between Brownwood and the Turnpike including the area of The Lofts at Richmond and the Okahumpka Rec Center. There’s footage and commentary on the work going on at the Sawgrass Grove area as well as the area south of Monarch Grove. Of course, I’ve included footage of the progress on the Water Lily bridge over the Turnpike. There’s footage of the area north of DeLuna and of Hammock at Fenney just west of the Red Fox and Grey Fox golf courses. You won’t see any footage of Magnolia plaza, for the most part it is done and not much more to show, we just wait now for the stores to finally open.

Beautiful work and getting better each time Don - thanks!

Do you know where the water used to fill the new lakes comes from?

It's mainly drainage from the streets. As one pond (hardly a lake) fills the water is then pumped to the next when needed/ready. The retention ponds have a liner that prevents water loss through absorption into the ground.

Thanks,
I'm still riding my 2008, just not as much as I'd like.

Thanks for all your videos
You mentioned you would put one together explaining all the dirt movement. Are you still working on that?

Is there a golf cart map or directions for touring south of Brownwood through the new villages and rec centers? Thinking of taking a ride this weekend to explore snd see. Thank you.

Yes I am, I started a while back and ran into some weather issues. As things change very rapidly around here, I'm now trying to track down some of the sites I need to give examples of the construction stages, what was happening a month ago in one area is now long since completed. It is a moving target.
