Default Pelican Conditions

We played Pelican this morning. The conditions are terrible. They cut down most of the growth in the environmental sensitive areas and as a result it looks terrible. The greens and tee box’s are in bad shape. Pelican used to be one of the most picturesque (albeit difficult) golf course in TV. It’s now one of the worst.

Seen the growth cut down before on Pelican.
Like Arnold in Terminator "It'll be back!"

PS. Now's the time to nip in and pick up a few thousand golf balls!

played there yesterday. Yes the weeds will grow back. Most of the holes unchanged. I do wish they could do something about the soft spongy conditions on the first par 4 though. It is of little help tp cleat the water only to plu in the mud and not be able to find your ball.

Such a shame. Hopefully it will improve.

... and other residents of those areas. Snakes for sure and there are probably dozens of wild pigs. If you run into Mama with some piglets, you’re in a heap of trouble.

Played Pelican on Friday and it looked much better to me as they trimmed some of the overgrowth.

If they didn't cut it back every few years, you might not be able to see the flagsticks on some holes.

Have they moved the tees back on the first par 4. It was up only about 100 yards from the green.
