Love seeing those birds and their family. They used to come around a lot in my neighborhood but not so much now. Maybe Stu will have some in his new Village.

Elegant and smart, staying in the shade.

I love these birds and love seeing them walking around so elegantly. However, I've been seeing a lot of single birds around lately which makes me sad because I realize that means they have probably lost their life-long mate probably by car accident.

Please be careful driving around.

Mixsonci many have been sitting on nests so one is out foraging for food. That's the reason so many single ones were around.

They are beautiful birds. They should be deemed as The Villages mascot.

They are beautiful birds and I could see them being The Villages mascot. But I also think one of our gators could be a good mascot for The Villages. The developer should have a contest to choose which critter as mascot. Either way we could then have a Name the Mascot contest. C’mon developer, good PR and a feel good activity while the COVID is still slowing down some social life here.

I grew up on a farm in south-central Nebraska. The cranes flew over our farm seasonally by the tens of thousands. When I moved to Omaha I would take my camera and drive for a couple of hours to see them by the thousands harvesting and resting along the Platte River Valley. Now they walk across my yard year round. I love it! Thanks for another great picture, Ron.

Vote for these beautiful birds as TV mascot. They walk on my lawn too. Forget the alligator as mascot, many non Floridians who look to buy here would NOT be impressed. Just as I would not like to see an alligator walk across my lawn.
