Default Looking for dog sitter

Our little beagle (rescue pet, and very timid) would be frightened to be left at our home during an upcoming vacation. I know there are several excellent folk who will check on your pet throughout the day, etc., but Meg has always been surrounded by people and pets and would probably be completely out of her element to be alone for 8 days.
Does anyone know if there is a home setting where dogs/cats can be boarded? We, as Meg's "parents" have been offered a wonderful opportunity to travel as guests to Key West, and while we would love to go, we are stricken with worry about what to do with our beloved Meg.
Be glad of any input from fellow softies. Sandra

Try Redwitch on this site. I know she has done this before for a couple days, might do it for 8 days. Look up her ID and send her a PM.

We offer a very hands on, warm environment for care of cats and dogs in a NO Cage facility. We have had many guests that are rescue/shelter pets and are timid or shy. We work individually with these pets to calm and reassure them to make their stay comfortable. I realize you are probably looking for a "home" environment but we do offer care around the clock at our facility with the opportunity to spend time in fence yards and socailize with other dogs based on temperment. Feel free to give us a call or check out our website. You can also see other posts about our facility by typing Bedtime Tails Luxury Pet Hotel in the search section of TOTV. You can reach our website directly by clicking on our ad to the left-on TOTV. Good luck with Meg.

Cathy, I have a couple of questions.

1. Can you share your daily or weekly rate with us?

2. I've heard that some boarding facilities have "nanny cams". Do you have a web cam to check in on your pet while travelling?

As lv2 stated, I have taken care of dogs in their homes, staying overnight, being around for a good portion of the day.

If you're looking for someone to keep your dog in their home, I highly recommend Yvonne Paradis. She will keep dogs up to 45 lbs in weight. Her dog, Princess, is a Papillion. To say dogs that stay with her are loved is putting it mildly. (She is going on vacation the 27th of this month [I think] for two weeks.)

Cathy, you're obviously a compassionate woman who has put a lot of thought into her business.

Thanks for the info. One more question .. Would it be possible for three friends to share a space .. One large dog, one small dog and a 18 year old cat?

I know a wonderful lady who takes your dog right into her home and gives them total TLC while your pet is with her. She usually has a couple of other dogs that she is sitting for at the same time, so your pet will always have company. I was very pleased.
