Hi all,

How do mail stations work in TV? I assume that you get a little box for your mail, which you open up with a key - good for letters and magazines ... but what happens if you order something from Amazon or somewhere else that arrives in a medium/big box?

Do you get a notice in your little box to pick it up? Is the package at the mail station? Is it somewhere else?
Does this process apply with USPS, Fedex, UPS, etc?

You are correct that you are assigend a box and all your mail delivered throught the US Postal Service is delivered there. If you receive a package that is too large, there are a number of additional larger bins, and you get a numbered key in your regular mail box so you know to get the larger parcel out of the larger bin. This is for US Postal Service only, no Fedex or UPS, which are delivered directly to your home. Amazon sometimes uses the US Postal Service for deliveries and those come to the postal station as above, unless Amazon has directed the postal service to deliver it to your home directly, which sometimes happens. signing up for USPS Informed Delivery has worked great. When you're expecting mail and don't receive it, you can go and ask the postal service worker (God forbid someone say "mailman") where the letter or package is. Likely it's in someone else's locker.
And when your neighbor comes to your door, asking where his/her mail is since it shows delivered to you, you can check your box and you'll find it. Last, there are the mail pieces that should be delivered and never makes it.

All of the above have happened to me, more than once. I love the USPS and in it's heyday was the very best. But I think it's taken funding cuts, etc and sometimes misses a beat.
