Default Cedar Key Villas-size of garage for 2 ??

Looking at a villa, since we don't want to worry about yardwork, but have a question. Want to store an antique car in garage as well as a golf cart. Do you think you can get both in the garage? The car is 18 1/2 ft. long and 6' wide. Does anyone have a large car in that garage with a cart? Thanks! (they don't make the villas with a 2 car, do they?_)

We fit our Town Car in with a golf cart when we rented a Patio Villa.

Hi Linandvin, I don't know if a Cedar Key is a Patio Villa or a CYV, but they do have 2 car garages for CYV's but they are few and far between. But I don't believe there are 2 car garages for patio villas.

The garage sizes vary a little, depending on what model villa you are considering. Your car is pretty long, I think my SUV is only 16' long. You would probably have to have it just about touching the wall with little or no room to walk around the car. I think you will be okay on width, even the smaller garages have an area that is a little wider to accommodate the cart.

Go out and look at the models, and take a tape measure and notepad.

If you do not mind a pre-owned villa, there are 2 listed on the villages website with either a 2 car garage or a regular garage and a golf cart garage.
VLS #208189 and VLS # 208070

If you mean the Villas on Cedar Key Lane in Buttonwood they are all Patio Villas. A golf cart would fit with the car. You might have to move the car to get it in and out. I have a patio villa,Cabot Cove model, and my Camray and golf cart have no problems co-existing in the garage. Try this link to see floor plans with mesurements,

Thanks, all! Yes, it's a patio villa (what's the difference between courtyard and patio villa??) and we are awaiting to hear the size of the garage door. The resale one is pending. Looks nice!

It would be a good idea if you went to The Villages website www.thevillages.com and looked at homes. They have pics and floorplans for all the models. It will give you a lot of information quickly.

Thanks! I think the best thing is to run over there with the ruler in hand and measure!

Default Antique car

What kind of car? We have a model T Ford club, a Model A ford club, and many other car clubs you can enjoy.

Some members have one or more collector cars and either own a trailer and park the car inside the trailer in a self storage lot, or they rent a storage unit. One member parks his Model T in the villa's garage and parks his modern car in the driveway. Another in a villa neighborhood has a neighbor who is rarely there and lets him park one of his cars in their garage. The owner parks in the driveway when they are there. In exchange the car guy watches their villa for them.

I bought a designer with a golf cart garage. Best thing I ever did! Modern car, Model T and golf cart fit with plenty of room to spare. With home prices so low now you can get a real deal! (But then again I love to garden!)

Johnfarr (our daughter went to ND-beautiful there!), thanks! I like the idea of storage. But he may want his baby (57 Olds98 conv.) close to him. It's a thought to keep the old one tucked in at night and the other outside. A trip over is in our future, especially on the third Saturday of the month!
