Default Pre-Cast concrete Panel Villas being assembled!

Directly west of the Chitty Chatty Bridge, across from Rohan Recreation Center on Rt44. Photo taken from Rohan Rec. The crane was setting the panels very efficiently. Panels brought to site in large green racks, crane lifts in place. Villas going up, windows already in panels. Very interesting.

Didnt know they built them this way.

No idea if this is a good or a bad way to do it.

[QUOTE=Stu from NYC;1973670]pre-cast panels is a time proven const method,,, glad to see tv modernizing their work - less expensive faster, quality's terrific too ! cast in place is the antique way.

am a surprised no one's using insulated con forms tho

Precast concrete slab construction quite popular on the US west coast for commercial 1, 2, and 3 story Class A construction. Buildings like warehouses, and office space in industrial parks.

Less labor required. From the ones I've seen, concrete slabs were fabricated on-site.

Interesting that it's being tried for residential construction.

If done properly, should be quite strong.

This method is not new to TV....I have seen it for years in the evolution from 466 and South.

Cursory research yields estimates of up to 20% less and many positive construction/strength attributes.
No negative findings.

Please explain what the type of concrete construction evolved that you observed. Similar or different?

Don Willey has spoken previously about what looked to be a very unique villa neighborhood in or near Chitty Chatty. I think Guy Villas. I wonder if these villas are what Don spoke of? I've been waiting.

The idea of concrete walls sounds like a good one here where it is so HOT. The home we now live in is the first to have block walls of all of our homes and it really delivers on keeping out the heat.

I found this when looking for pre constructed concrete walls for homes;

Not new. Standard in West Germany in the 70s. Watched a house go up across the street from us while stationed there. Walls came precast with embedded pipes and electric wires.

It's Ty Villas, and yes these are the ones I was referring to. I did not expect this, however. That said, I did do some flyovers and some additional research on the villas and construction technique, this will be in video #94 which I'm editing today. Only 1 "L" in Wiley please.
