There is a sign.
It even shows up on Google Maps.
The signs are usually a suggestion.

From my understanding, street legal golf carts (ones with full car insurance, license plates, beefed-up brakes, backup lights, windshield wipers, etc.) are allowed on streets whose speed limits are up to 35 mph. That includes crossing those streets. Regular golf carts like mine and probably yours, are only allowed on multi-modal paths or on residential streets inside The Villages (I'm not sure where they can be driven outside The Villages). I believe 441 has a 45 mph speed limit, which would make it off limits to golf carts, whether normal or street legal. Does that stop people from crossing streets like this? Of course not. Do they get stopped, ticketed and possibly arrested sometimes? Yes. Is it worth trying to do? No.

To my knowledge, the only place even a street legal cart can cross is up by Stonecrest, and that was a special exemption. Besides, why would one try to cross 441 at street level when the bridge is just a few hundred yards further south?

(As an aside, I have no idea why the law would prohibit a 25mph street legal from crossing, but allow a 2mph pedestrian)

Truly simple REALITY. There is right, there is wrong, there is legal. They are not the same thing. For many right for me is wrong for you to do as I do.

Not correct. When my cart was SL (no longer is) I checked with Lady lake PD and they said yes and we did it often at all the 441 crossings. Just like crossing 466, 466A or driving on 301. (Disclaimer: with all the construction now on 441 things may have changed but before that it was approved by Lady lake PD and the Sumter County Sheriff for 466/466A who came to a club meeting.
