Default Villages Firefighter’s Thanksgiving Dinner

Villages Firefighter’s Thanksgiving Dinner
On Friday (11/5/21) at 11:00 AM at the Rohan Recreation Center I will be holding a meeting for those that would like to help coordinate providing Thanksgiving Dinner to the Firefighters at all the fire stations in The Villages.

A little background may be in order here. A few years ago, my neighborhood (Ventura Villas) started a tradition of providing, preparing, and delivering Thanksgiving dinner to Station 45 as our way of saying thanks to these brave men and women who work so hard each day to help ensure our safety and wellbeing.

This year I’ve decided to step these efforts up a notch and show gratitude to all the Firefighters in all of the fire stations throughout The Villages, but it will take the help and participation of a lot of people. VPSD has been informed and is already onboard with this effort.

At the meeting we will establish the coordinators for each fire station and go over all that is required to make this show of appreciation to our Firefighters a successful event Villages-wide. If the participation of my neighbors in previous years and the outpouring of support for VPSD this past year is any indication of this year’s success, there should be no problem with this effort.

The coordinators are not doing all the work, they will reach out to their neighbors, local social groups, and other groups to identify those willing to help, they will coordinate the efforts of the menu and track who is preparing what dishes, and they will coordinate the timing and transportation of the meal to the fire stations.

Yes, this is short notice, and I apologize for this, but we still have plenty of time to make this a huge success.

If you are willing to help out and be a coordinator, please attend Friday’s (11/5/21) meeting at 11:00AM at the Rohan Recreation Center. If you need more information, please feel free to give me a call at 352-661-6175.

Thank you,
Don
