Default Future plans up in the air

After leaving last week our plan was to be back on 11/20 for 4 weeks. My wife has surgery on the 18th and what better place than Florida for the 4 week recovery. If it works it will be our longest stay. Unfortunately when I went for chemo yesterday my blood counts were off plus my back and left leg are suddenly very painful. The sent me home with no chemo and some pain meds that are not working. Not sure if this can all be fixed in 2 weeks or not but I have appointments again next week to see what needs to be done. Hoping for the best but we shall see, it is never easy.

Garywt, make sure that you have some arrangements for local medical follow-up if necessary, many doctors have long lead times for new patients.

Don’t stress over a missed chemo, due to WBC to low or basically can’t be site counted. Some never receive all their chemo, sometimes missing every other week due to labs. Just take care of yourself, your oncologist will adapt your treatment to whatever is thrown at you. Sending calming thoughts

I know it will be pushed back just the one week but will now push next months back a week etc etc. I will have chemo the rest of my life as my cancer is not curable. The pain that I have is a concern but they are scheduling a PET scan as well.

Didn’t want to mention PET scan, but glad they are scheduling due to pain. Can you come to TV, and do your treatment in Florida. Many centers, deal with floating, north to south patients. Worth bringing up. That way you can spend more time in whatever climate that makes your day better.

Pain is tough to deal with. Maybe hanging out in a pool could alleviate some of the pressure temporarily. Wishing you and your wife courage, peace and lots of healing power.
