Default The Villages Construction Update #104 – A Hectic December – 12/12/2021

Looking at the construction progress around The Villages so far this month reveals a hectic pace in every location. Even though the days are now shorter it seems everyone is working faster than ever. Trying to document all that’s happening is getting harder and harder.

This video starts out with a look at the Christmas lights in the three town squares, then a look at the newly renovated Sweetgum executive golf course and the work going on at the First Responders Rec Center.

Then moving the areas south of SR44 the video examined the work going on at Lake Deaton Plaza, Magnolia Plaza, The Villages of Hammock at Fenney, St. Johns, Richmond, Cason Hammock, and Hawkins, the work at Sawgrass Grove, the Okahumpka and Homestead rec centers, the major working happening north of the Village of DeLuna, south of Monarch grove, south of CR470 in Middleton, and in the Villages West Lakes area.

The video footage is backed up with some Christmas music this time around.

I hope that you enjoy the video as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together for you and don’t forget to Like the video and subscribe to my YouTube channel.

Any word on when construction will start on the 7-Eleven at Magnolia Plaza? Plans were announced in March of 2021 so we have been anxiously awaiting this for months now.

Another great update, Don.

After seeing those crowds at the Brownwood tree lighting festival, I'm glad we decided not to go. Wow, that was a lot of people.

Another top notch video Don!! Any idea what they have planned in front of The Villages Grown at SR 44 / Morse Blvd. They have cleared a large piece of land there and put in turn lanes. Thanks for all of the great information you provide our community!!

Been looking into that for about a week now, I can't find any information yet. As soon as I do...

It's permitted but no sign of the work to start, not sure what is going on.

Don,

You are such an asset to the community, thank you for all you do. What is your best "guess" as to when Eastport will actually start to become reality?

Late spring for work to start then 18 months to opening, best guess, once work starts, stand clear, it will be a whirlwind of activity in that area.

Probably one of the best videos, don. Thanks.

You should do a ‘commercial’ for your construction picture service.

I put a plug in for myself in most of my videos and put a banner for my website. Doing a commercial certainly wouldn't hurt business, I probably get around to it after the new year, lot of stuff going on and working on 105.

Don, another question, did you realize you were close to 100 - or did you happen to go back and count, and realize you were close?

Back in May, I was cleaning up my YouTube page and decided to count them and found out I was at about 90. At that point I thought it would be a great idea to have a party at celebrate and thank my viewers. After my son was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June I decided to do something better with it and turned it into a fundraiser. The fundraiser was a huge success and raised over $26,000.
