Default There is a chill in the air today, here are some signs…

- Woke up like clockwork around 4:30 AM to relieve myself and noticed an unusual chill, for the first time this winter had to go around the house and close the windows before going back to bed.

- After getting up and turning on the K- Cup machine, noticed the house was still a bit chilly. After 7 winters in the home, finally noticed our A/C system also has a heat setting. Fired it up and felt a warm breeze that had a strong odor of burning dust coming from the air ducts.

- Noticed way more plant coverings than ever before on my golf cart ride to the sports pool.

- Finally had an opportunity to use the rash guard that my better half gave me for Christmas while swimming laps at the pool. Boy, does that thing take the edge off the chill while swimming. : )

- On my way home from the sports pool in the golf cart, with the little bit of hair that I still have left on my head not yet dry, I had to pull over and flip up the windshield. That was a first, at least without the wife in the cart.

- Called Palmer at 2:15 and asked if a single could get out for 18, they said sure, come on over, there are only a couple groups on the entire course.

- During peak busy winter season I was able to play Palmer (Laurel to Riley) from 2:55 to 5:25. When else gan one get in 18 holes in 2 1/2 hours this time of year?

- Another first while golfing in Florida, opened up a package of hand warmers to keep the fingers toasty between shots.

- The last sign, when I packed some snacks and beers to enjoy during my round of golf, there was no need to put them on ice in the cooler to not get warm!

What were your signs?

Geez Topher,

the next thing you might see is actual snow!

we are now the proud owner of 20 or inches of the white crap in the driveway and yard.

Having flash backs of October in northern NJ this morning...

I heard a rumor that Florida pays us $100/day if the temp falls before freezing. Florida should sue NJ to recoup the money and tell NJ to keep their cold weather where it belongs!

Arrived at Glenview CC with a guest around noon. You might have presumed the place was closed. We teed off shortly thereafter and played 27 holes in just over 4 hours. We saw no other golfers on the course until hole 25. The course is in great shape from tee to green!

Hopefully every person who keeps bragging about loving the cold(er) weather......we hope you are happy and have your fix.

Now let's get back to the reason most of us are here......70+ degree FL winter.

For me all the snow and cold I need is on the front of a Christmas card!!!

In the villages, we have a birdbath out front. This morning it had a thin ice coating on top. Really. No I didn’t see birdies skating…

I don’t love the cold and would also prefer warmer weather, but the empty sports pools and Championship golf courses are a really nice side effect of the cold weather and make it much more tolerable. We will be back to warm weather, packed sports pools, and full price 4:20 minute rounds of golf next week.
