Default Dinner in Mt Dora

We will be going to the Ice House Theatre in Mt Dora saturday night. Looking for ideas for dinner before the show? Suggestions please?

Wife was happy with her grilled salmon. I ordered the NY Strip, not edible. Stringy, poor cut, over-cooked. It's Mediterranean style I was told. They took it out back to analyze it.
Took it off the bill.

Also had a side of cheese filled ravioli. They were cooked perfect although the red sauce was over-the-top sweet.

So, stick with the fish.

Very nice place, attentive staff. Very busy, made reservations thankfully. Had a great band (sit more to the back to avoid getting blown away). Waitress, wine server and hostess were wonderful.

Shiva for Indian food - if you can get a table. Very tiny place.

Mt Dora restaurants are ALL an overpriced, pretty tourist trap with food that is ok but not worth the money. Take a VERY short drive next door to Tavares for dinner at Havana 1959 Cuban Cuisine. Family-run Cuban restaurant with zero tourist trap prices and location but food and service that are the BEST. Yes, you won't be dining in the pretty little town of Mt Dora, but your taste buds and friends will thank you. Save the Dora experience for a walking tour to looky-loo at all the overpriced souvenir shops and drink some coffee. Also, be prepared to circle Mt Dora quite a few times looking for the rarely available parking spot. And dress warmly, because you'll be walking a couple of blocks from the parking spot you finally found to your venue.

We like LAS PALMAS for excellent Cuban food. Not overpriced.

Try the Magical Meat Boutique on West 3rd. It's a British Pub.

Yes, Globin Market would be my choice. The food is amazing. Make a reservation and if it's nice out, ask to sit at one of the outdoor tables. There are just a couple of them out there. Everything has been delicious there. We have made that a destination for lunch several times.
