This year our rental cart is gas powered and we are renting near Spanish Springs. Where would you recommend to refill the tank?
Thanks! |

The closest to Spanish Springs is at the Golf Cart Store in La Plaza Grande (the shopping center next to Spanish Spings). The pumps are in the service center across the street from the new cart sales store. They sell the non-ethanol fuel so it will be more expensive than you would see at the regular gas stations around, but it is nice and close.
The next closest, is over in the La Grande shopping area (on the historic side at the corner of 441 & Griffin Ave). From Spanish Springs, go over the 441 bridge and go south in front of Paradise Lake. That is a regular gas station. The next closes, is in Lake Sumter Landing at the Golf Cart Store. The pumps are in the service center area and they sell the non-ethanol fuel so it will be more expensive than you would see at the regular gas stations around. Finally, there are 2 regular gas stations in the Southern Trace shopping area. One is at the corner of 466 & Southern Trace, and the other is at the corner of 466 & Preston Dr. You would get to these through the village of Polo Ridge. |

What CWGUY said, easiest, but most expensive is Villages golf cart store. It costs more, but it’s ethanol free gas and convenient. WaWa has choice of either ethanol free or 10% ethanol. Since it’s a rental, you probably don’t need to pay extra for ethanol free.

golf cart gas is exactly the same gas you put in your car. Many people believe that ethanol free gas is "golf cart" gas. This is only true if the cart will sit unused for a few months. Not my opinion...it's what the owners manual says.

You are absolutely correct, full timers, whose carts never sit unused for extended periods of time shouldn’t wast their money on ethanol free gas. Ethanol free gas in the Villages could be renamed Snowbird or Snowflake gas. That being said, it’s well worth the premium price if the cart isn’t used for extended periods of time. Same applies for seasonal power equipment used up north like snow and leaf blowers.

The golf cart station in Spanish Springs is well with the extra money for the convenience and I don't have to use Sta-bil. It was a nuisance for me to use. Never could figure out how to get it to come out of the bottle (Please, no unkind comments. I am an 80 year old lady.)

Arrived here a month ago and only needed to use my truck once. Attached a tow strap to a fan palm and used the truck to yank it out of our garden. Drove it about four feet. Have had to gas up the golf cart several times.

Marathon Station at Pinellas Plaza. Villager owned and built. I like to keep the money local whenever possible.
