The army national guard recently left North Dakota (-15°F) for Alaska (+32°F) for cold weather training.

Train to simulate conditions as much as possible. Foolish.

Try and train at -15f. It’s an all VOLUNTEER MILITARY.

I love this. Military Intelligence!

Fifty years ago I was transferred from Duluth, MN to King Salmon, AK. I was the only GI in Alaska to go there for warmer weather.

"Come on team, we have a domestic emergency in Bismark that needs our expertise."

"Ooh, that's a bit chilly for us, but we'd be happy to help out somewhere warmer."

Stu has it right - you need to train for the conditions in which you could be operating.

Our National Guard should be used to protect our own country, like the southern border.
