Default Here comes the cold!!!

Oh no...Woke this morning to check weather here in Wisconsin and they are already talking of wind chills of down to 30s today due to the strong winds that have moved in (30mph with gust to 45mph)
Then I check the weather at TV for the fun of it - 90*. What???
Ok so we have 5 - 8 yrs to retire depending on how things go here. But looking at TV for retirement at least keeps us dreaming and it gives us that to look forward to. Hope to someday be in all your shoes enjoying that kind of weather.
What are the winters generally like there - Nov to March?
Anyway - ENJOY YOUR WEATHER!!!!

We have only been here for a week and a half, but it sure is nice going out at night without being nippy. Warm breezes under the stars. Seems too good to be true.

Reefer heres some averages i got off of the weather channel website.

nov hi 76 low 54

dec hi 69 low 47

jan hi68 low 45

feb hi 71 low 47

mar hi 76 low 52

These are supposed to be the average temps. Last winter it was very cold. Lots of nites in the 30s . I think it might have even gotten below 30 a few times. Dont know for sure about that. But most of the time its nice and warm and sunny. Swimming pools are all heated to about 85 or higher. Get on down here!!

Default weather

Just remember that snow is a 4 letter word, and down here, it's free to have it shoveled.

Reefer:

There were several days that it was in the 30's here in CT when going to work at 7:30 AM. More of the same starting next week.
I am waiting for my condo to sell and the door will not hit me where the good Lord split me in moving to TV.

To all TV'ers: Enjoy the sunshine and warm weather.

Sandy and I were in TV for 2 weeks last Feb......and it WAS abnormally cold there. But as we told everyone who brought up how cold it was (and given that we're from OH): "At least you don't have to shovel 'cold' down here!!"

Just got back from a trip to western New York. Arrived at my sisters about 9:00 pm, just before I got to her house the warning chime went off in my car along with the display: "Ice Possible". Looked down at the temperature and it was 31.

Warmed up the next day and we had a nice visit.

Told my sister unless she comes down here I'll see her next spring.

The "Witch of November" came creeping in yesterday here in the Midwest!
Came dancing across the prairies of Canada, snowed in N. Dakota & Minnesota, then took a dip in the Great Lakes and howled over Wisconsin, Illinois & Michigan, then soaked Indiana and Ohio.
She came early this year.

I read this earlier today and was feelin' kinda smug about our weather in ATL, still in the low 80s. A few hours later, the National Weather Service issued a hurricane warning for my county.

That'll teach me to feel smug.

Saw/heard news reports saying the storm that blew through was actually a worse storm (as far as barometric pressure goes) than the storm from the Blizzard of 1978 as well as others. If the temps had been cold enough, it would have been another blizzard.

http://www.foxnews.com/weather/2010/...ikes-illinois/ .....and via numerous other news sources as well.

We didn't get whacked in central OH as badly as what was predicted. But it still wasn't fun - temps dropped a bunch after the front came completely through.
