I have a contract with Best Buy for service. I went there and they could not pay attention to my screaming computer. They told me it would be at least three hours and I might have to leave it. Then I remembered that a few miles south of Morse I saw the sign for.

Since I converted my 10 Y/O Dell laptop (running Win 7) to Linux Mint, I never have to worry about such problems.

After receiving a similar message a few days ago I Googled what to do and after a few seconds I had many possible solutions. I chose one (pressing my control - alternate - delete keys all at once) and the problem was solved. Googling questions does not always solve problems but it usually offers reasonable suggestions. Sorry you caught Best Buy at a busy time — I doubt whether they would have charged you for their 10 second fix either.

I had a contract with Best Buy (geek squad). They wanted me to leave my laptop and send it somewhere and I would get it back in a few days. Went to MMD and it was fixed within an hour. I cancelled my contract with Geek Squad.

Karen, you might want to put a malware virus protection app on your computer. Malwarebytes is a good and reputable. You can have a free version or pay for a more extensive version. I use the free version. You can scan your computer whenever you want and if it finds something that's not supposed to be there it "quarantines" it. You then have the option to delete it if you don't recognize it.

MMD was established over 30 years ago and are wonderful and very knowledgeable. They have employees working there since they were kids. Lol. Great choice. Definitely would recommend to everyone. They also install SECURITY SYSTEMS. Great people.
