Default STAR EV recommendations from an owner

Can any owner of a STAR EV post their thoughts on it? Looking for real world range, ride, power, etc....

Thanks!

Don't know if you have seen this...

I test drove one...It was torquey and quiet. The slightly stiff ride was probably due to too much tire pressure.

I have one. 210 AMP. The video is accurate, you'll probably get about 80 Miles on a full charge. Just a word of advice, the App that comes with the battery and charger, is not as accurate as the dash gauge (I found that out today, the hard way).

I love the cart. I think the ride is excellent and perhaps more "sporty" than ClubCar, EZgo or Yamaha. The build quality is great. I've had mine for 2 months and have 700 miles on it, with no issues of consequence.

I bought it out of the bubble. As of now, I don't know of anyone who has a good weather enclosure for the Sirus model. I'm not happy with my cover and Sunbrella is working to make some changes to design, I'm told.

After many years of experience with golf carts, in the golf business, I think the Star Sirus is the best product out there.

I have one and love it. Very quiet and quick to start. Charges in 2-4 hours depending on how low. Nice design of cart. Seating is not 100 percent comfortable and if you are under 5' 8" reaching the pedals is a problem unless you extent your leg longer. Back of seat is adjustable but doesn't help for shorter people. I think you need a lumbar support to help. Clock never worked. They are working on updated software to fix it. 5 months nothing fixed. Some people experience squeeking rear wheels which The Villages Golf Carts has been having trouble fixing right away. I think a manufacturer's fault.

Star is still working on that, but as of now, the prototypes are struggling to keep all your toes working properly with the extensions.

I purchased outside the Bubble. Will or Sam at Sunshine State in Ocala has plenty of inventory at great prices and Crown Carts in Wildwood has represented Star for a long time. I bought at Sunshine and they've been great. They're working on my Sunbrella right now and they brought me a "loaner cart", while they have mine in the shop.

The uncomfortable seating was a killer for me.

Sales rep at The Villages Golf Cars told me no. I haven't tried one yet but sitting in the showroom it felt comfy. Interesting to hear they were uncomfortable by some.

Re; battery gauge
On a lead acid battery the voltage falls off as the battery discharges and so it is easy and cheap to measure the state of discharge. Lithium Ion cells have a flat voltage curve. Reason why you have full speed till it suddenly stops. It is far more difficult to measure remaining battery charge. You will get far longer life out of the battery, if you do not run it down till it shuts itself off. Rather than allow you to destroy the battery, the item, in this case cart will shut down and not allow you to over drain the battery.

Might be interesting to investigate how big a generator you would need to charge it for an emergency.
