Having lived in Bermuda for 22 years I would definitely recommend staying in Hamilton if you are looking for nice restaurants and nightlife. Which hotel however depends on your budget. Top of the list would be Hamilton Princess which would cost up to $1000 per night. 2nd choice would be Oxford Guest House at $400 p/n. Royal Palms is in between at $500 p/n. Rosedon Hotel (directly opposite the Princess) is also highly recommended but I don't know the price.

In case you were not aware as of March 7th Bermuda requires all visitors to apply for a Bermuda Travel Authorization prior to arriving. $40 per person with vaccine and testing requirements.

I haven’t been there in a while but I do know that if you are interested in restaurants and nightlife you probably want to stay in Hamilton. The rest of the island is mostly beaches and sightseeing.

We were there in Jan 2020....stayed at The Arches for a week....I would stay there again...the place had a small pool, overlooked the ocean, had a path down to their beach, with umbrellas, etc...they had a bar/roof top restaurant...ate there B/L/D many days, outstanding food and service...went to a couple other nearby restaurants that the owners recommended and made reservations at for us

There are lots of small private hotels in Bermuda, both in Hamilton and outside. These are much better than the resort hotels. Best to check reviews on TripAdvisor to get a wider set of opinions.

Public transport (buses and ferries) is the way to travel (scooters can be dangerous if you're not used to riding one, and car hire is expensive). Check the website - Bus Routes and Schedule | Government of Bermuda - for schedules and fares - best to buy a one month pass (or one week if you're there only a short time).

The Covid-testing and travel authorisation requirements are constantly changing (generally easing) so check the Government website ahead of time: Entry requirements - Bermuda (British Overseas Territory) travel advice - GOV.UK

Happy travels!

Bermuda was OK (2019), but the "One Happy Island" (Aruba) - was a much better experience (numerous trips) for us. Good luck on your trip.
