Default Open Land in the area of Fresh Market

I was told this morning that the open land on Wedgwood close to Fresh Market has been sold to a developer and it will be used for both homes and apartments and business. She said this information was in the Daily Sun, I have not seen it. Can anyone confirm this.

If it is true it is going to make that area densely populated and very very busy. I cannot imagine that the roads are big enough to handle the volume of traffic this development could cause.

I would say your source is suspect since all of that property has been owned by the developer (Acorn Investments) for almost 20 years.

Who is this “she”, where does she get her info?
And you go on in your second paragraph embellishing the rumor.

I hope you are right. I would hate to see homes and apartments going into that location.

That other online site has an article about planned development in this area.

Looking like it is true but the article states 43 acres kinda think there should be a decimal point in there somewhere

I think the area planned for development is north of Bellwether Drive and east of CR 103, near where Advanced Urology is located. Close, but not on Wedgewood Drive.

I think you’d be surprised how much land is there. For example between Buffalo Trail and Tatonka Terrace (between 466 and Woodridge) there is 32 acres alone

I see it this way.......any open land can and probably will be developed. Which is worse?.......residential or commercial development. Take your pick. This is the one and only reason hubby and I would never purchase any home with adjacent vacant land. We do not believe what anyone says about future development. This is why we purchased pre-owned in an already developed neighborhood.

As for the increased traffic.....infrastructure needs to keep up with the increase in population. I expect the developers to improve the infrastructure to accommodate the increase in traffic.

The area is north of Woodridge Drive, not Wedgewood Drive (well I guess it is north of Wedgewood as well.)

These descriptions are correct. It is not near Fresh market as told to the OP.

It is a pity you did not wait to read the comments from other posters before you jumped down my throat. The information was mentioned as being in the paper and obviously my informant did not get the information right.

As for my interest .... I live in this area and would not look forward to more residential development ... 101 has been turned from a pretty rural lane into a dangerous race track through the development in that area.

Ok so Woodridge is the back road that runs from behind Walmart through Summer Hill village. According to the map (on the “other site” this proposed development is (as some have stated) north of Woodridge and west of Buffalo Ridge abutting the Parkwood development. It’s a par five away from the Fresh Market!

Do you think that any of these developers care about density of population, traffic congestion, etc. etc. it’s money, money, money, money. That’s it, period.
