Default A great club fitting experience!

Some time ago, I had a club fitting at the Palmer Legends Custom Club Shop with Tom Spargo and it was incredible. It opened my eyes as to actually what I needed vs what I had been playing.

I have played with the new clubs several times now and even did a extensive range session between the old and the new; the old clubs are now gone.

I also looked at Club Champion and for the difference in fitting price and the fact that Tom is a Top 100 fitter in the nation, I’m glad of whom I went with.

If you are thinking about getting a fitting for irons, woods or a full bag, call Tom at 352-753-5310.

So how much did it cost (the total set of new clubs) and what brand did you end up with?

Fitting is $150 per session; I had 2 sessions since I went full bag.

Ended up w/ everything Callaway except the wedges, went with Cleveland - final cost was right at $2,500 for all the clubs including the fitting.

My neighbor saw him last April. He alway hit left off the tee. Now he is straight down the middle. It was the shaft change that helped him. I assume he fits different manufacturers.

I wish you could get a club fitting with your existing golf clubs. I really like mine but I believe I could benefit from different shafts, grips, and head fittings based on my height.

You really can’t go wrong with a correct fitting, and that’s what Tom does. There are a lot of people out there that think they can fit people correctly but they have very limited knowledge how to fit with the correct shaft, grip size and clubs to help optimize your game.

Is it the clubs or the swing? I am a bad golfer and I thought it was the clubs. I took some lessons and the teaching pro used my clubs on one hole. It wasn’t the clubs. The clubs worked for him. He suggested spending money on lessons-not on new clubs!

It’s both, but it all starts with the swing. One can have the best clubs perfectly fit to their swing, but if the swing sucks the clubs and fitting won’t make any significant difference. Having clubs fit to an inconsistent swing is not money well spent. Once the golfer has a consistently repeatable and decent swing, we’ll fit and quality clubs can take the game to a higher level. Golf on : )

This is good advice for those wanting to really improve their game, most of the “golfers” I see are only out to enjoy weather, friends, breakfast, lunch or drinks after the game the golf is just reason for those more important activities.

You're the fourth person that I've heard of that went to Palmer and got fit for clubs. All four ended up buying Callaway.

Maybe it's coincidence but I find it interesting.

It’s a great opportunity to find out what clubs best fit us. The game is always fun, but it’s a lot more fun when you play better.
