Default Cataract Surgery with Crystal or Toric Lens

Has anyone had Cataract Surgery with either a Crystal or Toric Lens replacement and been unhappy with the results? In addition to not correcting my vision which is why I chose these premium lenses, the glare around lights has made it almost impossible to drive at night.

I was thinking of getting them. Tell me who did the surgery.

I had the surgery this last March and went with the ones that cost $2000.00 an eye out of pocket and Iam very unhappy. Am going to see if I can go back and have the lenses that my insurance pays for. Am very unhappy that my opth. did not advise one way or the other. I still need glasses for all distances and the glow is huge around light objects, lights and street signs.

Default Crystal Lens

I had Crystal Lens put in about 9 months ago and do have a slight glare around bright lights at night, but my overall eyesight is better than it's been in years so I'm extremely happy. My surgery was done in Delray Beach, FL and I did have to have Yag laser about four months after and was told that nearly everyone must have the laser at some point after cataract surgery. If you haven't had laser, you might want to check with a good opthamologist.

I go to Ocala Eye and brought home the brochure on cataract surgery and types of lens. It did say in that that those lens' you speak of, for SOME people, will do exactly what you're experiencing. Did not the doctor go over all that with you before you had the surgery?? I'm sorry you're dealing with this as it must be frustrating!

Default cataract lenses

My Dr. never even talked to me about the lenses. I called and was told that I would never need glasses at all. It was the person scheduling the appointment that gave me the info. and never a mention of anything negative. Since my surgery I have had several friends ask their Dr. about the lenses and they were all told absolutely not or they are too new so don't go there.
Does anyone know if it's possible to have the lenses replaced? Thanks

Default Crystalens Through Lange Eye Institute

Had CrystaLens from Bausch & Lomb installed in March by Dr. Perich of the Lange Eye Institute. $2500 per eye. Must admit, I was somewhat leary of the claims for visual improvement made in the brochures and by the website, but I took the chance.

Needed reading glasses of increasing strength for almost 40 years. Now, I read everything without glasses, see colors on TV and my computers that I have not seen for decades, drive at night without halos and glare, and now, what might be the most important, can play golf without having to say after almost every shot, "did anyone see where my ball went?"

Have several friends who have had this lens installed and are most happy they did.

Taylor111947 would you email me as I would like to discuss the surgery with you as I go back the end of this month and need to be prepared to discuss my concerns.
